The global community of social security professionals and experts that make up the membership of the International Social Security Association (ISSA) is committed to sustaining and further extending social security protection in line with the objectives of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for 2030. To reach these ambitious objectives, we need to understand more fully the challenges that confront us and develop appropriate responses. This is the reason why the ISSA has prepared this report, which spotlights ten of the most important challenges that confront social security systems. The report considers these challenges from the perspective of the ISSA’s member institutions in Asia and the Pacific.
